Monil virtual fences in the United States

Monil has helped farmers around the world manage grazing without building miles of fence. Pending FCC equipment authorization, Monil is now accepting non-binding pre-orders in the US.

Pre-order here

We’re accepting pre-orders until March 31st 2026 with a limited run of 3 000 collars

Before Monil collars can be sold or shipped in the US, they must complete the FCC equipment authorization process. This process ensures that the technology meets regulatory standards and can be used safely and reliably across US networks. While this approval is in progress, we’re opening a limited, non-binding pre-order so early adopters can reserve collars ahead of full availability.

  • Collars are not shipped or billed until FCC authorization is complete
  • If authorization is not granted, all pre-orders are canceled and fully refunded
  • You’ll always have the option to confirm - or walk away - before anything is final

This approach allows us to plan production and support while giving you flexibility and exclusive access to pre-sale prices.

Limited pre-order offer.

$310 per collar

Included with your pre-order:

  • Monil collar hardware
  • 2026 subscription included ($45 per collar)
  • Chargers (1 per every 10 collars)

Not included:

  • Sales tax (if applicable)
  • Shipping costs

This pre-order offer is limited to the first 3,000 collars reserved.

1. Submit a non-binding pre-order request via the form below on this page

2. Receive a confirmation email within 2 business days. The confirmation email will summarize the information you provide, plus a total cost overview.

3. After FCC approval, we’ll reach out to:

  • Confirm your details
  • Review final terms
  • Confirm payment and shipping

4. Orders are finalized only after your confirmation

If you choose not to proceed at that point, your reservation is simply released.

Once FCC approval is obtained, estimated mid March, we’ll contact you to confirm and finalize your order before shipment and invoicing.
You’ll be asked to:

  1. Confirm the accuracy of your previously provided information.
  2. Review and accept Monil’s Terms of Sale as they apply at the time of order confirmation.
  3. Provide or confirm payment details for invoicing and delivery scheduling.
  4. Confirm shipping details

If we do not receive your confirmation within the specified timeframe, your pre-order will be considered withdrawn, and Monil will have no further obligation or liability related to that reservation.

The Monil Virtual fencing collar

The monil virtual fencing collar

The Monil collar has a top-mounted design that optimizes boundary accuracy and solar energy collection while protecting the electronics from impact.

A combined counterweight and buckle mechanism keeps the collar oriented and makes fitting easy.

The Monil collar is powered by the sun, continuously recharging itself while your animals graze. During the summer grazing season, solar charging alone is typically sufficient to keep collars operating without manual intervention.

In darker winter months, or in situations with extreme boundary interaction, some collars may require an occasional recharge using a physical charger. Chargers are included in the purchase, one charger for every 10 collars. With Monil, there are no battery replacements needed.

Built for real farm conditions, the Monil collar features a strong, secure locking system and a durable strap designed to stay in place. The strap is the result of extensive research and animal testing, shaped to fit the animal’s neck comfortably while remaining easy for ranchers to fit and adjust.

The locking mechanism is designed specifically for ranch use - simple to handle, secure in the field, and quick to apply. Bells can be added at the bottom of the lock for producers who want traditional audible tracking alongside virtual fencing.

Safety is built into the design. If an animal gets caught, the strap is designed to give under heavy pull rather than holding fast. This helps reduce the risk of injury. If a strap is damaged, it’s easy to replace by moving the unit onto a new strap with a screwdriver.

We take such pride in this design that we named the company after it - Monil, derived from the Latin word for necklace.

Monil guides animals using gentle, directional cues that help them learn and respect virtual boundaries. After a short training period, cattle learn to respond to sound frequencies as they approach the boundary.

As the animal turns its head, the sound frequency changes, indicating when its movement is aligned with the correct direction to move away from the boundary. Over time, livestock naturally adjust their behavior based on these cues, enabling effective, low-stress containment without physical fences.

Every Monil collar comes with a 5-year warranty, giving you confidence that your investment is built to last. It’s our commitment to quality, durability, and long-term reliability in the field.

Monil works without base stations or towers on your property.

The system operates using GPS and cellular connectivity, allowing you to set up and manage virtual fencing anywhere, with no additional infrastructure required.

All setup and fence management can be done through our self-service guides, and our customer success team is always available to support you if needed.

Because Monil collars rely on the mobile network, a minimum level of cellular connectivity is required at your operation.

What happens if connectivity is lost?

Virtual fences continue to function even if mobile connectivity disappears. The collars use GPS to keep boundaries active and animals contained. Cellular connectivity is required again to adjust fences, track animals, or receive alerts on your mobile device.
